Course Description

Takes your tec diver training further and deeper

The PADI Tec 50 course completes your training as an entry-level tec diver, taking you past the limits of recreational diving.

During the Tec 50 course, you will use our top-of-the-range Scubapro tec diving equipment, make actual decompression dives as deep as 50 metres, use Enriched Air Nitrox and oxygen for decompression and use desk top decompression software to create custom dive tables and plan your dives.

The end result is you will qualify to make technical decompression dives independently.

Course Materials

You will use the Tec Deep Diver Crew Pack, which introduces you to tec diving terminology, emergency procedures, decompression and stage cylinder handling and gas planning.

The Crew Pack includes a manual, dive planning checklist and dive planning slate.

Prerequisites

Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
Must be a PADI Rescue Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
Be a PADI Deep Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
Must be a PADI Tec 45 diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and 20 dives were deeper than 30 metres/100 feet
Be at least 18 years old
Have a medical form signed by your doctor

Health & Fitness

Anyone with an average level of fitness can enjoy scuba diving. You don’t have to be an athlete!

But Tec diving IS quite demanding and some medical conditions such as heart or lung problems will prevent you from participating.

Before signing up for a PADI Tec course, you will be required to complete and sign the standard PADI Medical Questionnaire [PDF, 120KB], with signed clearance from a doctor.

We recommend taking the form to your doctor for completion before you travel to Spain.

Weather & Dive Conditions

The Costa del Sol has the perfect weather for taking a PADI course or just diving for fun, with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Hence its name!

Summer daytime temperatures average 30°C (86°F), with winter around 16°C (61°F).

Water temp May to September: 19 – 29°C (67 – 85°F)
Water temp October to April: 14 – 18°C (58 – 65°F).

Please note: All course prices include complete rental from our range of the latest and most modern Scubapro diving equipment; transportation to and from the dive sites in one of our air-conditioned mini-buses or by RIB boat; plus PADI certification on successful completion of your course.
